The BKind Philosophy

BKind was started as a box of paper and fiber scraps and a desire to give it purpose.

Jennifer now has a studio full of materials - gifted, inherited, found, and otherwise needing a path to a new life. These materials are the basis of many of her “Swatch Project” art pieces and new Installation Art in progress.

What remains is collaged into little card-sized original art.

At the heart of the BKind line of cards is the idea that we can do more with less. We can create something meaningful, interesting, and beautiful and share a heartfelt message while minimizing our impact on the environment.

The Art: The Original Collages are made using re-purposed materials. Any purchased materials are acquired via 2nd hand shopping, with the possible exception of adhesive materials (e.g. a glue stick).

The Paper: While the initial prototype cards use standard white cardstock (to use up materials already available), the final card line will feature 100% recycled content paper. Matching 100% recycled content envelopes are also currently being sourced.

The Packaging: The protective sleeve used with the cards is made from compostable plant-based PLA film. Shipping packaging uses re-purposed materials or supplies purchased from EcoEnclose.com, a sustainable packaging supplier.

Embracing Flaws: Mistakes can happen while creating a collage, mounting it on paper, and preparing it for shipment. Whenever possible, errors are embraced in order to avoid sending materials to a landfill. Small flaws may occur, but rest assured, they will not deter from the meaningfulness or beauty of the final art card.
