About Jennifer

Jennifer standing outdoors on a cloudy day with snow on the ground and patches of grass, standing on a wooden deck near a small body of water, wearing a colorful knitted cardigan and glasses.

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Jennifer began her love of the outdoors at a young age - camping and hiking every summer around Mount Rainier, the Olympic Peninsula, and the Oregon Coast while bird watching and drawing and painting animals at every opportunity. After briefly following her love of animals (and science and math) into college, it was there she rekindled a passion for art and earned a B.F.A. in painting at the University of Washington under the direction of Professor Eugene Pizzuto. Jennifer has since brought her interest in the fiber arts into her practice, the first seeds planted by her mother and grandmother, and kindled by a community of women - and continues to expand her creative explorations across disciplines.

Currently, Jennifer lives and works in Corvallis, Oregon, where she also enjoys knitting with friends, gardening, hiking and biking, family movie nights, and playing with her sweet pets when she’s not on the road embracing a new adventure.

Specializing in paintings & mixed media art…

An established acrylic painter, always inspired by nature, Jennifer is pushing the boundaries of her latest work. Moving to use natural-based oil, gouache, and watercolor pigments and inks with hand-carved stamps, stencils, printing press, collaged papers, and stitched fibers, Jennifer works to enhance the patterns, colors, and textures of a piece while also exploring the emotional and narrative elements of her art journey. Her award-winning work is well-loved and collected worldwide as well as locally in the Northwest, where she spends most of her time.

“I create with layers of color and texture while emphasizing the natural forms I inherently prefer. Each piece is an exploratory process with each brushstroke, stitch, or printed design being informed by the previous one, keeping it honestly rooted in the organic nature of my subject matter.”    ~ Jennifer

…with projects encompassing an interdisciplinary approach.
